Abstract

To improve the functionality of carbon fiber composites with the incorporation of graphene nanoplatelets. We will be investigating the effects on both mechanical properties including laminar shearing and fatigue. Also the effect of the incorporation of graphene on electrical conductivity will also be investigated. A range of nanoplatelet sizes will be used during the project, this will be useful as an approach to see how the functionality of the material can be tuned with the incorporation of nanoplatelets with different aspect ratio's.
